Trial Underway For St Louis Priest Accused of Abuse
A trial is underway for a St. Louis priest accused of abusing a 15-year-old Colorado boy. Fr. Robert Charles Manning, now living in a home for retired priests in St. Louis, had been serving at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 2007 through 2012 when he was suspended due to the allegations of abuse. Fr. Manning allegedly sexually assaulted the victim multiple times and provided him with alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. The case is being heard before the 4th Judicial District Judge Robin Chittum and is expected to last ten-days. Fr. Manning has also worked in parishes in Bridgeton, Glencoe and Imperial Missouri.
