Residents Upset Over Recovery House

Some residents upset about a group home for heroin addicts in their neighborhood are circulating petitions and talking to City leaders in an effort to get it shut down.  Owned by Assisted Recovery Centers of America, the group home is located in the historic Lewis Place section of the city, and the Lewis Place Improvement Association maintains the business violates city zoning laws which prohibit boarding or rooming houses.    According to KTVI-TV, members of the Lewis Place Historical Preservation, Inc. say their organization is working with police to rid the community of drugs and crime, and wont rest until the home is closed.
