Nuclear Plant Offline Due To Fire
Ameren’s Callaway County nuclear plant will be offline for a few days as workers repair damage caused by a small fire Friday. The fire, located in a non-nuclear side of the facility, was quickly contained and caused by electrical equipment. The “Post Dispatch” reports the Callaway County reactor provides electricity to one-point-two-million Ameren Missouri users. Although the reactor will be offline for at least a few days, Ameren does not anticipate any disruptions to service.
