Married Gay Couples Recognized By IRS

Legally married same-sex couples are now able to file joint federal tax returns.  As reported in the “Post Dispatch”, The Treasury Department and IRS will recognize same-sex couples as married for all federal taxing intentions including estate, income and gift tax.  The new ruling covers those living in states that do not recognize same-sex marriages.
