District To Pay State Back Over Fraud

St. Louis Public Schools will be paying back the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education thousands of dollars in funding due to attendance fraud.  The Post Dispatch reports, a 2011 audit revealed the principal of Patrick Henry Downtown Academy had the schools secretary fudge the numbers in the attendance records from 2008 through 2010.  The altered numbers helped them receive state funding for the federal No Child Left Behind program.
