Amnesty Day For Alton Saturday

Alton, Illinois is having an Amnesty Day tomorrow.  A defendant with a minor criminal matter can take their Photo ID to the Alton Law Enforcement Center from 9 a.m. until noon at 1700 East Broadway and make arrangements to have traffic violations, arrest warrants in misdemeanors, removed or reset without the threat of going to jail.  As reported in the “St. Louis Post Dispatch”, Police Chief Jason A Simmons said he hopes someone scared to drive to a job interview because of unpaid fines, won’t have to worry anymore.   Alton’s last amnesty day in 2010, 109 people participated.
