Autopsy results are confirming that "Sopranos" TV star James Gandolfini died of a heart attack. A family spokesperson told reporters in Rome Friday that Gandolfini's death was the result of natural causes, adding, "nothing else was found in his system." Michael Kobold also said in his statement that the actor had a "wonderful day" in Rome in the hours before his death, sharing that Gandolfini visited the Vatican and had dinner with his family. He said everyone is devastated by the loss, describing Gandolfini as a "a devoted husband, a loving father of two, a brother and cousin you could count on."
The 51-year-old actor died Wednesday night. Gandolfini was scheduled to appear at a film festival with actress Marissa Tomei in Sicily on Saturday. That event is now expected to include a special tribute in his memory. His family is making arrangements to bring his body back to the U.S. for a burial.
